My grandmother had a restaurant in her home, and my first job was being a car hop at A&W Root beer... I went on to study the food world and remained in the business professionally for over 25 yrs. I semi-retired and took on a new career helping people with pets find a great place to live in So. Cal. I can tell ya my life changed and my new desk job helped add on the pounds !

From Texas to the country in Kansas , & then off to the big city life here in L. A. , where art,culture, music, food and fashion rule , I have been transported into another world. But no matter where we come from we all have one thing in common, we all have to eat !

There is a new consciousness to start eating more healthy, which means more plant based foods. An awareness has come about that we want Big farmers to stop spraying our food with poisons , that organic foods are possible for the masses and we can feed ourselves and families the best foods possible . There is a better way to live. A better way to breathe, a better way to eat .
We are what we eat!

WELCOME 2012 WEIGHT LOSS AND BEYOND !

HAPPY NEW YEAR !


MY WISH AND DREAMS FOR MORE  LOVE, HAPPINESS AND PEACE IN THE WORLD . 


MY WE LEARN TO LOVE OURSELVES  
GIVE MORE LOVE   BE THE SHINING LIGHT 


IT STARTS HERE AT HOME WITH OURSELVES 


IT IS THOUGH I WAS WAITING FOR THE NEW YEAR TO START ALL OVER WITH MY GOAL OF LOSING 100 POUNDS . I HAVE CONVINCED MY WONDERFUL HUSBAND TO JOIN ME IN MY JOURNEY . HE IS IN PRETTY GOOD SHAPE ... COULD LOSE A LITTLE BIT ...BUT OVERALL WE BOTH WANT TO  CONTINUE TO EAT MUCH BETTER  EACH DAY .

I THINK I JUST WANT TO PROVE TO HIM THAT IT ISN'T THAT EASY .. AND I THINK HE WILL BE SHOWING ME THAT IT ISN'T THAT HARD .. 


THE YING AND YANG EFFECT ! 






.. BUT I HAVE NOT BEEN WASTING TIME . 


BECAUSE I  DIDN'T DO MY OWN RESEARCH (stretch,stretch,and more stretching and then even some more and than start off very slow ) AND DEPENDED ON SOMEONE ELSE TO TAKE CARE  ME (my $$$ trainers should have know better)  SUFFERED INJURIES AND A 7 MONTH SET BACK AT THE GYM I JOINED. 


PERSONAL TRAINERS  CAN BE A GREAT TOOL... don't get me wrong  . BUT SOMEONE MY SIZE WITH AN ALREADY WEAK BODY FROM A PREVIOUS INJURY SHOULD HAVE DONE MORE PREP WORK FIRST.  SO DON'T BELIEVE THAT STUFF YOU SEE ON TV, yes jillian Michaels and team , I mean you guys  !! UNLESS YOU HAVE EXPERTS AND DOCTOR STANDING BY , WE HAVE TO BE VERY CAREFULLY DOING THIS ON OUR OWN . MY BEST ADVISE ... GO SLOW AND WORK YOURSELF UP TO IT . BELIEVE ME YOUR BODY WILL TELL YOU .. BUT THAT ALSO DOESN'T MEAN BE LAZY ABOUT IT.. OR COP OUT IT IS A LITTLE PAINFUL HERE AND THERE.
DON'T GIVE UP. I watched a special about a 500 pound 15yr old  young girl who couldn't walk but a few steps at a time and it took her an hour 20 minutes to do a mile walk , but you know , she did it !! After 18 months she had lost have her body weight ! She slowly worked her way through it . If she had to stop she stopped but she kept going to the finish line !!! 


HAVE DEVELOPED BURSITIS IN MY RIGHT HIP , inflammation of the bursa , AND HAVENT BEEN ABLE TO WALK MUCH . REGAINED THE WEIGHT I TOOK OFF THE FIRST OF LAST YEAR. ...that just showed me even more how much exercise means to weight lost. We had already changed our diet to the extreme.... and it came back from lack of movement but still eating the suggested calories. Calories in , calories out .  If you can't move , eat even less. This is where nutritionally dense food come into play. Greens, vegetables , fruits. You can eat alot for very few calories and get so much more vitamins  and nutrition into your body. 
MOVEMENT IS KEY AS WELL. MY PERSONAL BODY CAN NOT HAVE SUGAR AND NOT MOVE. DO YOU KNOW HOW HOW SUGAR IS IN FRUITS!  AND DAIRY !  ETC ! My first wonderful smoothies were making me fat.. Don't forgot to look at all the links on my sidebar. They are the best sites with lots of information , recipes , how to get started on the right track .




I AM BLESSED TO HAVE BEEN INTRODUCED TO A WONDERFUL DOCTOR THAT HAS BEEN ABLE TO HELP ME GET BACK ON TRACK .

SO WHAT HAVE I BEEN DOING ? 
WITH SOME HELP I HAVE CREATED THE BEST  150 FOOT FRESH VEGETABLE GARDEN. 
I DECIDED TO BECOME THE EXPECT AND LEARN HOW TO TAKE CARE OF MYSELF . 
AND WHY NOT !!! I HAVE BOUGHT AND LEARNED EVERY COOK BOOK , NON COOKBOOK,YOU NAME IT I HAVE IT ( Amazon used booked great place to shop. I also got lucky
and found tons of books on raw and healthy eating for a few bucks at the Goodwill. Either some one gave up or no longer needed them because they had reached their goals, they or in new condition.)


ONLY I CAN MAKE MYSELF HAPPY . ONLY I AM IN CHARGE OF ME  !

I HAVE BEEN RESEARCHING  AND STUDYING TIL I BRAIN HURT ...


I KNOW THAT THERE HAS TO BE  A SMART WAY, AN EASY WAY TO GET WHERE I'M GOING.


THE FIRST STEP :


TAKE ONE STEP! AND THEN ANOTHER AND THEN ANOTHER . IF IT HURTS STOP A MINUTE THEN TAKE ANOTHER .. AND THEN ANOTHER . 


IF I CAN ONLY TAKE ONE STEP TODAY
TAKE TWO STEPS TOMORROW
 AND THEN THE NEXT DAY TAKE ONE MORE AND THEN MORE MORE. 
SOONER OR LATELR I HOPE TO WALK AROUND THE BLOCK AND SO ON.


I HAVE LEARNED TO READ AND UNDERSTAND LABELS
I HAVE LEARNED WHAT IS THE RIGHT PORTION SIZE
I HAVE LEARNED WHAT EXERCISES I CAN DO AND CAN'T DO .
I HAVE LEARNED IF ONE DAY IS BETTER THAN ANOTHER THAT'S OK.
I HAVE LEARNED PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT.
I HAVE LEARNED TO MAKE MYSELF HAPPY IS THE KEY
I HAVE LEARNED TO GIVE MYSELF A BREAK TO FORGIVE MYSELF.
I HAVE LEARNED POSITIVE THINKING WORKS !
I AM POSITIVE I CAN DO THIS !


I HAVE LEARNED TO LOVE MYSELF !  MY BODY IS MY TEMPLE. 
I HAVE LEARNED DON'T EAT CRAP !!!!!

WE ALL KNOW FROM WATCHING TV 
THE RIGHT FOOD, EATING LESS AND MORE EXERCISING IS THE ANSWER.
BUT IF IT WERE THAT EASY WHY DOESN'T EVERYONE DO IT?
SELFESTEEM 
WE DON'T HAVE THE SELF WORTH WE SHOULD HAVE
WE DON'T THINK WE ARE WORTHY
SO WE JUST SELF TORTURE OURSELVES !
IT'S EASIER.

JORGE CRUISES BELLY FAT CURE: HIS CLAIM IS SUGAR IS THE CAUSE OF ALL OUR PROBLEMS ... AND I BELIVE IT . WHEN I STARTED TO CAREFULLY CHECK BETTER I FOUND SUGAR AMOUNT OUT OF CONTROL .. DID YOU KNOW THAT 2% MILK HAS 13 GRAM OF SUGAR   IT SELF ... SO ADD THAT TO CEREALS AND SAUCES ... MY SOUP BASES DIDN'T LIST SUGAR IN THE NUTRITION LABEL BUT DOES IN THE INGREDIENTS , EVEN CORN SURUP IS ADDED !!!! NO WONDER THEY SAY WE HAVE HIDDEN SUGARS THAT ADD UP !!

(However, the recipes contain no nutrition information other than the grams of sugar and servings of carbs they contain – not even a calorie count.)
Five different weeklong meal plans designed for various eating styles, from carb lovers to meat-eaters, provide a framework for the eating plan. 
When in doubt, dieters can follow the "no-excuses day" plan:
  • Breakfast: 3 eggs, 2 slices buttered toast
  • Snack: Handful of walnuts
  • Lunch: Tuna salad on one piece pita bread
  • Snack: 1 cup cottage cheese with honey
  • Dinner: Grilled chicken or steak, sautéed veggies and 1/2 cup brown rice
Dieters are advised to drink 8-10 glasses of water a day. Most fresh fruits, and beverages such as skim milk and 100% fruit juice, are depicted as "belly bad." 
Because of their low sugar content, blackberries and blueberries are the only fruits allowed on The Belly Cure plan. Although fruits are generally considered healthy because of all the nutrients and fiber they contain, Cruise says you can get the same nutrients from vegetables without the (natural) sugar found in fruit. Once you reach your goal weight, you can add up to two pieces of fruit per day.

I USE SPAGETTI SQUASH INSTEAD OF NOODLES AND A CAN OF DICED TOMATOES WITH ADDED BASIL  FOR SAUCE ( YOU CAN ADD ANYTHING TO THE SAUCE , SOME TIMES I ADD ONIONS MUSHROOMS AND ZUCCHINI)






AT THE RESTAURANT SALMON AND VEGGIE .. I WILL HAVE TO SKIP THE POTATOES FOR NOW ... 


CAN'T BELIEVE THE GARDEN IS STILL GROWING IN JANUARY ! 
WE ARE SO BLESSED ! ONE OF THE BEST EXERCISE IS GARDENING AND I GET TO BE OUTSIDE IN THE FRESH AIR. 


I AM HAPPY TO REPORT THAT DISNEYLAND IS GROWING FOOD IN THEIR LANSCAPING AT TOMORROWLAND !!
